Bodyguards And Assassins

Bodyguards And Assassins. As it is rated as 18SG. (you know what). Most of the scenes are violent. Of course, not violent without a reason. It showed the dark side of the world when it comes to revolution. It is not as peaceful and smooth as what Karl Marx stated in Marxism, but bloodshed and sacrifices are necessary.

Starring Donnie Yen, Leon Lai, Nicholas Tse, Tony Leung Ka-Fei, Li Yuchun and many more. It is a film tells of a historical day - Oct 15, 1905 - in Hong Kong where 5 ordinary folk became unsung heroes when they sacrificed their lives to protect chinese revolutionary Dr Sun Yat Sen, who went on to become the father of modern China.

Directed by Teddy Chen, Teddy takes his time to develop characters, position them carefully within a clear historical context and fully explore their relationship to each other and personal politics, before letting them off the leash to wreak bloody carnage.

Suffice to say that the film is more of a political drama than is perhaps hinted at in the film's marketing, but an engrossing and highly effective one. But the last section of the film features some impressive fight sequences and numerous wince-inducing moment of bone-crushing violence.

I do personally like the way the film was produced, and Donnie Yen's action sequences are simply awesome.
